What’s common in rare diseases is the need to blend promotion, education, digital outreach and advocacy together, to ensure the right patient had access to the right information at the right time. LSD, as the agency of record for a major pharmaceutical company, developed and executed a cohesive plan that touched all aspects of commercialization.

HOW

From interacting with key opinion leaders, to touching patients directly, working with their advocacy groups, and creating educational outreach, there was one cohesive story woven through everything that drove towards early intervention.

RESULT

Heightened awareness about a rare disease, faster linkage to care for potential patients, and enhanced pathways for accessing treatment.

WHAT

The treatment paradigm in a specific disease area was rooted in legacy treatment goals.

While there had been numerous attempts to evolve the treatment paradigm with educational programs and other projects, what they were missing was a simple visual representation that was both easy to understand and able to capture a new way of thinking.

HOW

LSD took a strategic concept and added creative branding, which was then ingrained in all instances of external communications, promotional materials and educational decks.

RESULT

The campaign that was created in Canada was picked up globally – not just by the parent company, but by external stakeholders that helped change the overall treatment paradigm.

LSD, as the strategic partner of this major pharmaceutical company, strongly recommended zigging, while the rest of the global organization zagged.

WHY

Because we took a longer 3-5 year view of the market and the competitive landscape and determined the long play was based on zigging.

RESULT

5 years after a very successful launch of the brand, the product has remained the market leader in the Canadian landscape. Additionally, Canada has also held onto the number 1 position of competitive market share across all global affiliates, while the vast majority of the other affiliates have lost that leadership position to the competition.
